Polestar Studios is a much -loved corner stone of the regional music industry institution, supporting the North East music scene to make great music since the early 90s. Nestled on the edge of the Ouseburn Valley, Newcastle, this rehearsal and recording studio in Byker, was established in 1990 by Pauline Murray; singer of iconic punk band Penetration. Thousands of bands and musicians have used the facility in its long history.
Our small, but mighty recording studio is host to a vintage Trident Series 75 Mixing Console which is the heart of the space boasting a selection of great vintage gear as well as some modern classics. We run a ProTools HD Native system ensuring recordings of the highest quality. The space which serves as the live room for our recording studio has recently been refurbished and has everything you need for sound recording including a new stage and lighting bars. Our Polestar Live Sessions will not only showcase our #PolestarLive musicians, it will also showcase the space as a hireable live stream venue.
